Due to the complex product structure of the shock tower, with thin walls and multiple ribs, it has high requirements for the mold, especially the airtightness of the mold. Otherwise, the product will be loose and porous. Therefore, it has extremely high requirements for the flatness of the mold frame, especially the parting surface and the cavity plane, and also has high requirements for the size and position tolerance of the mold cavity. Generally, the tolerance of the parting surface to the bottom surface of the cavity is ±0.02mm; the size of the cavity generally has a gap range of 0.03mm-0.08mm.
This mold base is supporting 4400T die-casting, and the product size is 2120mm*1550mm*580mm. In order to ensure the flatness, our company employs skilled operators with more than five years of experience for surface finishing. The allowance before fine finishing is controlled at about 0.05mm, and continuous μ-level compensation is carried out in combination with the wear of the tool insert to ensure that one plane is finished in one pass. The verticality of the main frame is also controlled within 0.02mm.
