Horizon Mold recently launched its annual equipment maintenance and precision restoration work, which will last two weeks. The goal is to keep all core machining equipment running in a stable and reliable condition over the long term. As a company focused on high-precision integrated die-casting mold frames, Horizon Mold now has more than ten digital units, with nearly all of them CNC-enabled. Over 60% of the equipment is also connected to the IoT system. The annual maintenance covers not only routine cleaning, lubrication, and cooling system checks, but also puts a strong focus on detecting and restoring key geometric accuracy.

During this maintenance period, equipment engineers and the process team work together. They use precision instruments like laser interferometers and ballbars to run full measurements on spindle runout, positioning accuracy, and backlash on the high-precision machining centers. Based on the measurement data, they carry out pitch error compensation and backlash correction to keep machining accuracy strictly within ±0.02mm. Meanwhile, for long-running heavy-duty gantry machines, they pay special attention to checking the guideway wear layer, screw preload, and hydraulic system seals, and replace worn parts in time. All maintenance data is recorded in the equipment module of the MES system, which allows maintenance records, accuracy trends, and follow-up production tasks to be traced and linked together.

Thanks to this systematic annual maintenance and precision restoration, Horizon Mold not only keeps its equipment at factory-level accuracy, but also effectively reduces breakdown rates and the risk of defective parts. This gives a solid guarantee for high-quality, short-delivery mold frame production.
